A big earthquake struck off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at 23:36 last night (March 16th).
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to those who may have been affected.

The Natori Michinoku Coastal Trail Center has been checked and the facility is now open as usual.
Other satellite facilities are also open as normal.
※Tanesashi Coast Information Center is currently closed until March 21st as a precaution against the COVID-19.

As reported in the news, there is a possibility that a large aftershock will continue for about a week. The tsunami warning associated with this earthquake was lifted today (March 17) at 5:00 AM, but there is a high possibility that sea level fluctuations will continue for about half a day in the future. There are also areas along the trail where power outages and water outages occur.

If you are on the trail or you are planning to walk, please make a decision that puts your own safety first, such as suspending your plan or postponing your schedule.
