A long-distance running race, the Stage Race Sanriku SRS200/100, will be held over four days from Saturday, May 2 to Tuesday, May 5, 2026, covering the route from Miyako City in Iwate Prefecture to Kesennuma City in Miyagi Prefecture.
Some sections of the race course overlap with the Michinoku Coastal Trail. Although runners are encouraged to slow down and greet others when passing or approaching from the opposite direction, please be especially mindful of runners if you plan to hike this section on race days.
