
Michinoku Coastal Trail Days 2026 will take place at the Natori Trail Center on April 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun), 2026.
This event is a participatory gathering where hikers, local residents, and people involved with the trail come together to connect, share experiences, and enjoy time around the Michinoku Coastal Trail. Guided by the MCT Charter, “the trail will welcome all who love to walk and will develop with everyone’s help”, the event creates opportunities for new encounters and connections between local communities and hikers from Japan and around the world.

Program Schedule
[Hiker Talks and Presentations]
Join experienced hikers as they share their personal journeys, memorable encounters, and insights from the trail. These sessions offer a chance to learn about long-distance hiking culture in Japan and around the world.
This year, enjoy talk sessions by hikers of the MCT, CDT, and PCT, as well as a special talk by the newly established MCT fan community, the “Shiokaze Hikers Club.”

[Workshops]
Hands-on workshops where participants can create and experience practical outdoor skills and crafts.

Enjoy live acoustic guitar performances in a relaxed atmosphere. Take a break, sit back, and enjoy the spirit of the trail community. “Yuriage Daiko” (Japanese taiko drumming) invites audience participation.

[Booths and Community Area]
Explore a variety of booths featuring outdoor gear, local products, and food. This area also serves as a space for interaction and connections among hikers, locals, and visitors.
- Yuriage Local Food Experience
In Yuriage, Natori City—where the Natori Trail Center is located—traditional local dishes such as okuzukake, natto mochi, and zunda mochi have been enjoyed for generations. Once again this year, local residents of Yuriage will gather at the Natori Trail Center to prepare and serve these homemade specialties just for this event.
