A bear attack resulting in human injury occurred today (July 27) in Noda Village, Iwate Prefecture.
Local authorities in Noda Village have issued the following safety warning:

At around 7:00 AM today, a tourist was attacked and injured by a bear in the Tamagawa area (near Ishikado Cemetery). Residents and visitors in the area are urged to exercise extreme caution.

1.Avoid entering forests, mountains, or areas with dense vegetation unnecessarily.

2.When outdoors or doing farm work, carry a bear bell, radio, or other noise-making devices.

3.Properly dispose of food waste and discarded crops, as they can attract bears.
