Since last fall, there has been an increase in bear sightings.
This year, there have already been reports of sightings in northern Iwate Prefecture (around Shimakoshi Station on the Sanriku Railway).
There have been reports of sightings not only on forest roads, but also near private residences, so please be careful when walking.
