The author of this article is James Clark, a travel journalist based in the UK who came to Japan to cover the Michinoku Coastal Trail in July 2019.
James is planning to thru-hike the Michinoku Coastal Trail this year over the course of 40 plus days, and then write and publish a book about Tohoku and the Michinoku Coastal Trail. Before his hike, he also plans to come to Japan a separate time to film a documentary with a filmmaking crew.
