The “Umineko Marathon” will take place in Hachinohe City on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Due to the event, congestion and temporary traffic restrictions are expected near parts of the Michinoku Coastal Trail.

■ Impact on the Trail
Part of the half marathon course overlaps with road-walking sections of the Michinoku Coastal Trail.

【Overlapping Sections】
Kabushima Area – around Nishinomiya Shrine
Around the Milepost Area – Ashigezaki

On the day of the event, congestion is expected due to several hundred runners, official vehicles, and spectators along the course.
Hikers planning to pass through these sections are asked to stay alert, pay close attention to their surroundings, and prioritize safety while walking.

■ Public Transportation
The Tanesashi Coast sightseeing bus “Umineko-go” will be suspended for the entire day.
Please check your hiking plan and possible escape routes in advance.
