The public toilets located on the Ryori Peninsula in Ofunato City have been out of service for an extended period since 2018, but water supply piping work has been completed and they will be operational from August 2025.
Please note that the public toilets are located about 20 minutes down the walking path from the main line, so the round trip takes approximately 40 minutes. Also, a bench that was destroyed in a forest fire midway along the path (about 10 minutes from the main line) has been refurbished, allowing you to take a break while enjoying the spectacular views of the ria terrain, so we hope you will make use of it.
Also note that there are no toilets along the peninsula for long distances, so please use the toilet before entering the peninsula route and bring a portable toilet with you just in case.
