Typhoon No. 5 (Maria) is expected to make landfall in the Tohoku region on Monday, August 12 with a storm area. The weather in the Tohoku region is expected to be very stormy, and the Pacific side of the region may experience record-breaking heavy rainfall. Those who plan to hike or are hiking along the entire Michinoku Coastal Trail should frequently check the weather information released by the Japan Meteorological Agency and evacuation information released by local governments via TV, radio, websites, etc., and review their plans and hiking. For your own safety, stop hiking and refrain from going outside before the wind and rain intensify. Also, stay away from dangerous places such as beaches, rivers, and cliffs.
