石巻・登米・南三陸で活動する、おきなくらEELsからイベント情報が届きました。
毎月開催している、みちのく潮風トレイルを歩く体験会。
1月は戸倉エリアを歩き、この時期ならではの冬鳥との出会いを楽しみます。
志津川湾には、毎年たくさんの冬鳥が越冬しにやってきます。
ゴールは南三陸・海のビジターセンター。2Fテラスからは志津川湾を一望できます。運がよければオオワシやコクガンの姿を眺めることができるかもしれませんね。
しっかりと防寒をして、ご参加ください。

■服 装：動きやすい服装と歩きやすい靴

Here’s some news about an upcoming event by Okinakura EELs, a group active in Ishinomaki, Tome and Minamisanriku.
Every month, Okinakura EELS holds a Michinoku Coastal Trail walking event.
For the January event, participants will walk the Togura area and enjoy meeting the birds that you can only see during this season, since lots of birds come to Shizugawa Bay for the winter.
Our walk will end at Minamisanriku Marine Visitor Center, where we can look out over Shizugawa Bay from the second floor terrace. If we’re lucky, we may be able to see a Steller’s Sea Eagle or Brant Geese.
Make sure to dress very warmly for this event.

■ Who can join: Elementary schoolers to adults, people healthy enough to hike the course
■ # participants: 10 people
■ Cost: 1000 yen (special discount price, paid in cash on the day of)
■ What to wear: clothes and shoes suitable for walking

■ What to bring: a hat, a drink, participation fee, health insurance card
■ Other notes: if the event is canceled due to rough weather or other reasons, participants will be contacted via email by 7:00 pm of the day before the event.
