The following is a message from Yoko Jigen about the exhibit, and an introduction of Yoko Jigen herself.

“Scenes on Foot”
I ended up hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail by chance, because someone happened to give me the maps. I didn’t know much about this area, and at first I was constantly surprised by new and unfamiliar scenery. I crossed paths with more people, got hooked on this trail, and before I knew it I was involved with making its maps and data book.
Now, I am happy to share these photographs, taken during a journey on foot: everyday scenes shared by all places, within Sanriku and without.

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, now living in central Tokyo and daydreaming of a move to somewhere beautiful.
Holding photography exhibits since 2009. Since hiking the Te Araroa Trail in New Zealand in 2017, taking an ongoing series of photographs while traveling on foot.

2018 Photo book “emu,” m.s.s.books (self published, on sale at Trail Gate)
