写真家であり、ニュージーランドの3,000kmを超える長距離ハイキングコース「Te Araroa Trail」をスルーハイクしたロングディスタンスハイカーでもある地現 葉子さん。
みちのく潮風トレイル全線を歩かれて、その後もHiking Map Book、Data Bookの製作や、春、夏、秋編の動画でのメインハイカー役としてのご出演など、このトレイルに深く関わってくださっています。
今回、そんな地現 葉子さんの写真展「徒歩景色」を名取トレイルセンターで開催出来ることになりました。
また、写真展開催の初日に、併せて「地現 葉子＆ハイカー座談会」も開催します。
地現さんと全線を歩いたハイカーがみちのく潮風トレイルについて和やかに語り合う座談会をご覧いただくトークイベントとなっています。地現さんがみちのく潮風トレイルを歩きながら切り取った景色が、より親しいものになってくるのではないでしょうか。

メッセージ
写真展タイトル 「徒歩景色」
偶然いただいた地図がきっかけで、みちのく潮風トレイルを歩くことになりました。私にとっては未知の土地であり、最初は見慣れない光景に驚くばかりでした。そのうち不思議な出会いがいくつも重なり、トレイルにすっかりはまり込み、いつしかマップブックやデータブック制作のお仕事に関わらせていただくようになりました。
今回こちらで発表させていただくのは、歩く人の目線でとらえた写真です。それは三陸であれ他のどこであれ、普遍的な日常の姿であるように思います。
プロフィール
地現 葉子 JIGEN, Yoko
広島県生まれ。現在は東京都心で暮らしながら、どこか美しい場所への移住を夢見ている。
2009年より写真家として写真展などの活動を始める。2017年にニュージーランドの長距離ハイキングコース「Te Araroa Trail」を歩いたことがきっかけで、歩きながら写真を撮るシリーズを続けている。

Long distance hiker and photographer Yoko Jigen’s hiking experience includes thru-hiking New Zealand’s Te Araroa Trail, which is over 3,000 kilometers long.
She’s hiked the entire Michinoku Coastal Trail and is very heavily involved with the MCT, including creating the Hiking Map Books and Data Book with other team members and appearing as the main hiker in the spring/summer/autumn trail videos.
We’re excited to announce that we’re holding an exhibit of Yoko Jigen’s photographs titled “Scenes on Foot” at Natori Trail Center! There will also be a relaxed hiker’s talk event with Yoko Jigen and several other people who have hiked the Michinoku Coastal Trail on the first day of the exhibit

Message
“Scenes on Foot”
I ended up hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail by chance, because someone happened to give me the maps. I didn’t know much about this area, and at first I was constantly surprised by new and unfamiliar scenery. I crossed paths with more people, got hooked on this trail, and before I knew it I was involved with making its maps and data book.
Now, I am happy to share these photographs, taken during a journey on foot: everyday scenes shared by all places, within Sanriku and without.

Holding photography exhibits since 2009. Since hiking the Te Araroa Trail in New Zealand in 2017, taking an ongoing series of photographs while traveling on foot.
